So, I have a friend who claims to be a vampire. Now, this isn't like a usual vampire. He can be in the sunlight, he doesn't need to feed off of blood to survive (although he will start getting hunger pains when he doesn't feed), and garlic does not hurt him, but he does have an allergic reaction to it. He does have very good senses, and he has fed before. But in order to be at his top vampiric state, he needs to shift into it. This involves him getting into a state of mind where he lets his inner vampiric mindset take over, and flow throughout his body. He claims to get a severe adrenaline rush as soon as he shifts, and he lets out this terrifying screech.
Now, most of that doesn't really fall under the actual lore that I have read on vampires, so I am just kinda curious what other's have to say.
I know shifting is used in the therian community, and it seems like this type of shifting is similar to mental shifting for therians, but I am not 100% sure if he is actually vampiric shifting, or he is just entering a different state of mind that takes on the mindset of a vampire. Like I said, I have not read anything that involves vampires and shifting, so I wanted to make this thread to see other's opinions on this topic.
I have witnessed his shift multiple times, and I dabble in a bit of aura reading. Whenever he shifts, he lets out an enormous amount of energy, and his aura turns to a darker color. Now, like I have said, I am not sure if other vampires do that.
So, if anyone has any input, please let me know. Thank you so much.

That's how it is with me. It's actually just us changing our mindset to match our true nature

A vampire is a being from folklore that subsists by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of the living. In European folklore, vampires were undead beings that often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighbourhoods they inhabited when they were alive. They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance, markedly different from today's gaunt, pale vampire which dates from the early 19th century.
